Our coaches are what makes the program run throughout the state!  They are a dynamic group of people who are committed to our mission of educating and preparing girls for a lifetime of self-respect and healthy living.  Running experience is not a prerequisite to be a coach, but a positive attitude, good sense of humor, and a committment to the betterment of our Vermont girls are "must haves."

New coaches can either join an existing site or can apply to start a new site where a site doesn't already exist.   Coaching involves a wide variety of tasks and we find that sites run well if the tasks are divided fairly evenly amongst the coaches.  However the coach roles are established, each site's coaches work together to ensure that the program is implemented and administered within the GOTR VT guidelines so that each girl receives the same high-quality experience. 

It is important to note that most sites hold their program shortly after the school day ends.  Prospective coaches will need to factor this into their decision about how to be involved with Girls on the Run.
